Dubai: Australia’s 2-0 Test series win in the West Indies put them ahead of India in third position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test Championship rankings released Sunday.
The Australian side had entered the series against the West Indies on equal points with India but below Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s side when ratings were calculated beyond the decimal point. However, the series win gave it one ratings point which was enough to put it ahead of the Indian team.
England leads the Test Championship table, followed by South Africa which is a fraction of a point behind Andrew Strauss’ side.
1.England 116 rating points
2.South Africa 116
3.Australia 112 rating points
6.Sri Lanka 99
7.West Indies 85
8.New Zealand 85
