A leader from the Victorian Indian community has dismissed claims that an on-air gag by Sandy Roberts was “racist.”

Roberts had joked that cricketers in India were “all going home for a very good curry!”

Federation of Indian Associations of Victoria president Vasan Srinivasan said the remarks were in a “light-hearted” context.
