Australia responds to Kerala Tourism roadshows

Indian state of Kerala is a popular tourist destination for visitors from across the world. However, the state continues to promote tourism.

Kerala Tourism Department recently kicked off a marketing drive targeting the emerging global markets. It held roadshows at Sydney and Melbourne, which was well received.

“Both the roadshows proved to be good quality draws, giving a slice of Kerala to the trade members in these cities,” Kerala Tourism secretary, T K Manoj Kumar, said about the roadshows held last week.

“Kerala is already a known brand even in Australia, but after seeing the progress made by the state in the recent times, the industry appears keen on promoting Kerala further,” Kumar, who led the delegation, said.

Presentations on what made Kerala a brand across the globe, screening of much-acclaimed ad film ‘Your Moment is Waiting’ and business-to-business meets to forge new collaborations were some of the highlights of the marketing drive.

Interactive sessions were also held on October 25 and 26 at the two Australian cities to give a taste of Kerala to the travel fraternity, a state tourism department release said.

Around 75 tour operators and travel agents turned up in Sydney, while at Melbourne there were 60 people from the travel business.
