One of Australia’s largest diversified property groups, Stockland today announced that the first land release of its newest community in Melbourne’s north is scheduled for 26 September 2020. In light of current COVID-19 restrictions, the land release will be done under completely virtual conditions.
Named Katalia, after the word ‘catalyst’ meaning to incite action, the 89.5 hectare residential community is located 39.5kms from Melbourne CBD in the Donnybrook growth precinct. It is anticipated to attract strong demand from first home buyers, upgraders and investors alike due to its affordable living and location.
“The virtual land release will be run using an Expression of Interest process, where customers will submit their lot preferences via email. However, it is first-in best-dressed, so customers are urged to submit their request quickly,” explained Stockland Project Director, Kerry Balci.
The contract signing will be done via Docusign digitally and successful customers will receive a physical gift in the mail, instead of the usual in-person gifting to celebrate their purchase.
Speaking about Stockland’s newest Victorian community, Kerry Balci continued: “The northern corridor is one of the fastest growing in Australia and will play a key role in Melbourne’s future economic and employment growth. It is predicted to be home to over 260,000 people over the next 30 years.
To add to its appeal, the community is situated within close proximity to transport links, such as Donnybrook Train Station (1.5km) and the Hume Freeway (3.7km), as well as major shopping centres and schools.
Katalia also boasts 11.5 hectares of future open space, including a planned local sports reserve, two additional ovals and a proposed government P-12 school. A community facility is also planned for the community.
Block sizes in the first release range from 179 to 321 square metres and prices start from $159,000 for a 179 square metre block of land with larger blocks planned in future releases.
