A teenage murderer of an Indian student has been sentenced to 13 years in jail.
Justice Paul Coghlan, who sentenced the 17-year-old murderer to jail, ordered him to serve a minimum of eight years in prison before being eligible for parole.
An Indian student, Nitin Garg, 21-years-old, was stabbed when he was walking through a park in Melbourne’s suburb of Yarraville in January 2010.
He managed to reach a nearby fast-food restaurant where he worked. However, he died in hospital the next day.
Nitin Garg, who was an accounting graduate, was in Melbourne on an Australian student visa.
