Redemption time for Team India

Hyderabad: India will take on a confident England side in the first of what is being hyped as a revenge five-match ODI cricket series starting here today.

For the Indian cricket team, this is the time for redemption. Dhoni and his team will be keen to settle scores after having failed to secure a single victory in England.

India lost four Tests, three ODIs and one Twenty20 International during its recent tour to England.

The series will be the first where the new ICC rule of using separate new balls from both ends will be implemented along with changed Powerplay rules.

The series also gives Dhoni and the national selectors a chance to have a clear idea about the fringe players as they get an ideal opportunity to test the bench strength in the absence of senior players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan to name a few.

England will be missing the services of James Anderson and Stuart Broad. But Alastair Cook will certainly hope to carry on the winning streak.
