With the current COVID-19 crisis, many people are at home consuming energy, among other things. One of the ways to reduce maximum cost is by installing solar panels, feels Ankur Kumar Bhatt
Bhatt says people must take advantage of the Victorian government’s offer of rebate up to $1,888 for solar panel (PV) system installation for homeowners and rental properties. “It is a golden chance for consumers to avail this opportunity,” says Bhatt, who has been in the solar energy industry for more than five years now.
To further reduce installation costs, householders can apply for an interest-free loan, for an amount equivalent to their rebate amount. The loan is required to be repaid over four years. This means typical households can save up to $890 per year on their electricity bills when they install solar panels, according to Solar Victoria, which is responsible for the delivery of the Victorian Government’s Solar Homes Program.
“It is an economical way and the right time to go ahead for installing solar panels,” says Bhatt. “Therefore, if people install solar panels now, they can get maximum power during the daytime and, thereby, cut expenses.”
Bhatt further explains, “Even if people are not at home, unused energy is exported into the grid and power company gives some money. Energy prices keep increasing but if customers have their own solar panels, they can get their own renewable energy. Because of Solar Victoria’s rebate and interest free loan, customers don’t need to pay full money from their pocket and only have to pay 2,500-3000 AUD to install standard 6.6kw system (for residential system) as opposed to 6,000 or 7000 AUD earlier.”
Bhatt suggests that one can go to the Clean Energy Council, Australia’s renewable energy association, and enquire about products and companies. “It’s a government body and the perfect place to clear your doubts.”
Bhatt’s own company Eco Solar Australia is an accredited fully Australian owned company that is centred on the sales, servicing and installation of solar batteries and solar panels in the Australia. “Since its inception, our company has recorded continual growth in the demand for its products. We have over 300 successful installations till today after the new government scheme announced on 1st July 2019 and have been getting very good response,” says Bhatt.
Here is a look at how Eco Solar Australia works.

Repair and maintenance
A huge step towards energy independence, solar batteries let you store up power for when you really need it. Adding battery storage minimizes your reliance on the grid and reduces the money you put in your energy supplier’s pocket, says Bhatt.
In the coming few years, “The demand for solar panels will grow because everyone wants clean, renewable power and the new technology will be in place by storing energy in batteries. Right now, there are batteries available, but the prices are too high. After five years, the hybrid battery storage might be affordable,” says Bhatt.
Bhatt is a businessman with a philanthropic mission too. From April 1, his company Eco Solar Australia pledges to donate 1$ for each panel towards COVID-19 donation for 1 year.
