Amritsar: Here is an Indo-Pak love story – the story of an Indian youth who set on a quest to find his Pakistani lover. However, his quest landed him in trouble when he was caught by BSF personnel yesterday while trying to pedal his way across the International border.
Arwinder Kumar, 25 years old, a resident of Farouqabad in Uttar Pradeh, rode on his cycle all the way from his hometown to Amritsar. He had planned to cross the international border and meet his Lahore-based lover, whom he had met through the internet, said DIG BSF Pankaj.
Kumar was caught by the 41st battalion of the BSF in Rorawali village.
Interrogation revealed that Kumar did not have mandatory travel documents, including a passport and visa.
Arwinder said he had fallen in love with a Pakistani girl through the internet. He also said that he did not have patience to wait and do the paperwork for his travel documents.
He possessed only a mobile phone, some clothes and Rs 350 when he was caught, the DIG said.
