The music industry legend Molly Meldrum is in a critical condition after he suffered a fall in his Melbourne home yesterday.
65-year-old Meldrum fell about three meters when he was putting up the decorations for Christmas party. The incident occurred at his Richmond home.
Meldrum received injuries to his head and chest. He was in a coma before he was taken to The Alfred hospital.
Meldrum’s manager Mark Klemens said today that Molly Meldrum would be ‘humbled’ by all the support and love.
“He would be absolutely overwhelmed by the support and the response and the interest, (which) has been quite extraordinary,” Mr Klemens said.
“When he finally looks back on all of this I have absolutely no doubt he will be humbled and just so thrilled at the support.”
Meldrum’s fans and friends have taken to twitter to wish him speedy recovery. Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard also tweeted urging Meldrum to “keep fighting”.
